About the exhibition in the painter's own words:
Regarding my artistic endeavor, I have had no special training nor have I attended any art school. Therefore, I would like to call myself a self taught artist and hope this 'drawback' is not an offence to the art itself for I believe everybody is an artist in some mysterious way. I just happen to be one of them but inmy own way and in my own style. I have always been a dreamer. I see stars and trees, vivid leaves and cool breeze, dark highways and jumbled up labyrinth of what seems like lines and creases and sometime sink in the sea of tranquility. The whole sky covers me up like the shrouds in a cold winter covers the alleys of the Kathmandu valley. Then I feel like something compressing me like crazy and I cant help my oozing out emotions, so I spill them out on canvases here there and everywhere.
About my paintings, I have always been inspired by nature like most of us andmy paintings are just an honest interpretation of my perception of nature . I am inspired by the unmistakable beauty of women for they are so close to nature and what we call love. In fact they embody not only love and motherhood but different facts of nature; sometimes like the evenings of the summertime, sometimes like the chilling winds of the Antarctic , like the roses in Parisian walkways, like a leaf in an autumn breeze, sometimes like a flowing river sometimes like swallowing flood . I don’t find my paintings untouched by these vibes radiating from nature.
One thing I wish to emphasize is that I am neither a messenger nor a philosopher and my paintings carry no messages as such. I do not advocate any philosophy nor any sort of creeds, my paintings simply manifests my unconditional feelings and me/myself. All I want from you is just to feel the paintings and just feel it in your own way. I hope you will enjoy the ride. His Excellency Finn Thilsted, Ambassador of Denmark has kindly consented to open the exhibition. For further information, contact Park Gallery, Lazimpat, phone - 4419353. Hope to see you there!
