The press conference held on November 15th of “Acharya” a film based on the life of one of the greatest singing legend of yesteryears, Bhajan Shiromani Bhakta Raj Acharya was held in Vintage Café and Pub Kathmandu, Nepal.
The film director Prashant Rasaily, the producer Roshan rai along with Satya Raj Acharya and Swaroop Raj Acharya. Sons of Shree Bhakta Raj Acharya, addressed the conference.

Even as a young boy, Legend had known nothing than to love and appreciate music. Every step that he took in the coarse hardship filled trail of his life was a step to fuel that undying passion… Unfortunately, as fate had it, this passion that defined his very existence was cut short in a tragic incident that changed the sole purpose, course and meaning of his life.
The movie will be filmed in various locations in India and Nepal with casts and crew from different countries. Satya Raj Acharya, a renowned musician and Shree Bhakta Raj Acharya’s elder son will be playing the lead. The shooting is scheduled to start from the first week of December 2009 to January 2010.
“Acharya”, a film based on the life of Bhajan Shiromani Bhakta Raj Acharya of Nepal will be first major venture of Silk Route Picutres, a film production company in Sikkim. Whereas, A Pioneer of a new-age Nepali cinema, Prashant Rasaily attempts to break the established threshold with his directorial debut ”Acharya” a true story of one of the greatest Nepali Singing sensations of all times. Prashant has assisted Anurag basu in his Bollywood production “Kites” featuring Hritik Roshan and Barbara Mori and has also co-produced and written the screenplay for the Nepali film “Kagbeni”. With him now stepping into the Nepali film circuit, it is only obvious that a revolution in Nepali film making has just begun. Here’s wishing this promising movie crew all our very best.
